@Marshall Kelloway Steve stil feels completely out of place in Smash, because he's the only character who had literally zero effort made into making him feel cohesive to the rest of the game. I know Minecraft's (overrated) visual style is "iconic" or whatever, but he sticks out like a sore thumb.
@Mr Al We get occasional gems still, "Fackham Hall" is a hilarious movie that brings back that Monty Python/Mel Brooks absurdity. You just have to look outside the mainstream corpo-slop to find things that are actually good.

Yeah. When Super Smash Brothers does a crossover, the developers make them feel like they belong. It doesn't JUST feel like "Bowser and Zelda and Mega Man and Samus beating each other up, isn't that WACKY?", it feels like they could actually have some reason (CONTINUED)

I remember back when Fortnite was an actual game, a fun co-op survival crafter.
Then they abandoned that for their Battle Royale mode (something many of us who funded the game wasn't happy about) and I noped out, never looking back. It really sucks that it has become synonymous with Battle Royale.

Zero is right, it's not about absurdist humour being bad (it isn't, comedy like Monty Python and Mel Brooks are still hilarious after more than five decades), it is just that the quality of it has gone down as well as being soulless and/or corporate slop.
It's not that absurdist humor isn't funny, it's that it's been adopted by corpos and monetized. Nothing kills a joke faster than when it's being sold by a brand.
The problem i see is that the some of the people complaining about the new brainrot characters are the ones having no problem paying for characters like snoop dogg or butthead. I dont like brainrot nor squibidy toilet. I also didn't like the ripping friends. But someone out there does and thts ok
Key of these are quality of collabs. Fortknite is very much example of cheap one. Character don't really fit. For other corner, Mortal Kombat games do it right as there is labor of love to make them close to fitting, Robocop or Conan the Barbarian are great addon and they feel in character.
I got to watch a streamer playing a Counter Strike ripoff. It was a mode in fortnight. Weapons were fine. If players split up, you couldn't tell at a glance who was on your team, because custom costumes everywhere. Made me want to play real CS instead of watching this fake.
