If anything, there isn't enough yellow paint
I am a yellow paint accelerationist, I want the entirety of the screen to be covered with it until it's impossible to rely on

Hey I just logged in to say you can only log in with google+. Facebook login is not allowed somehow. And the "next" button is usually broken when you view the comic without clicking the view comments thingy. Had to browse it by clicking the "last" button and clicking the "previous" button.
See also: big open world games with a marked minimap and compass for good measure that send you to the exact coordinates for every quest. What's the point? Give me some fun recognizable landmarks! Or cute orcs misleading me, that is also acceptable. :)
@Eboreg I agree. If the pathing wasn't so obnoxious then you wouldn't need markers all over the place. What happened to a bit of extra light coming out of the correct corridor? That has worked since forever and I never noticed being guided.

hint systems that don't backseat you in a blind gameplay are nonexistent in mainstream games.
initially it was supposed to get people who barely played video games into a game without making them sit on whatever puzzle there is in a game.
now it's just the yellow path to macguffin city.
I think a bigger problem is developers' obsession with wall climbing mechanics which has a similar problem to point-and-click adventure games in that it's a very fine balance between patronizing your players and forcing them to read your mind.

See I could tolerate it being a toggle that you can turn off and on.
A hint toggle should be enough with the yellow paint being part of it. The only issue would be game journalists accidentally turning it off.

@nightarix yellow paint trap would be fun if that is done once or twice on game, other time it would be real guide. That would be enough to put people on edge on every time they are following quest marker.
i think it'd be hilarious if a game pulled this kinda trick, lets you get used to a certain color being helpful, then suddenly it's a deathtrap if you follow it, pity it'd only work once or twice before you figure out how your getting tricked, assuming no use of external guides.
