A nuisance mechanic that was done *away* with instead of being used to soak the player for microtransaction money??? Pocketpair will be strung up by the other publishers!
Could be worse. Cleaned out my fridge last month and the bag felt like one giant ice block.

tbh i think rotting only existed as an excuse for ice type pals to be in the game and do SOMEthing unique. i like that the newer buildings require cooling pals tho, gives em something to do. also quite glad that refrigeration is mostly irrelevant

Cooling is good to help make lots of vegetable cakes. I adventure while my pals farm ingredients, specially wheat for flour. My guild chest is full of ores and stuff for crafting in any of my bases.
Still,Im surprised that you don't talked about Lovander and how she is number 69 in Palpedia.
Pretty sure the only reason food rot is in the game is because Ark and some other survival games did it. So they add it in as part of the core, despite the fact the game focuses on getting automation real quickly with your pals and thus never having a resource scarcity.
I was always a fan with how Oxygen Not Included handled food storage. Food rot is a real problem and a threat to your supply, but if you just put your food storage box in the lowest pit in your base so that all the carbon dioxide from your people breathing collects there, it can't rot without oxygen
