Even the characters that died (save the real big one), did so exactly the way they wanted to go out.

The remaining Stark Children all got Happy Endings. John didn't get off that poorly, either. Tyrian got a pretty annoying (to him) ending, but he'll still lead a pretty full life. All the side characters that lived, ended up with exactly what they wanted or more.

Nah, people definitely hated it cause it was extremely rushed and several years of character development went out the window to ensure GRR's cliffnotes ended in the right spot.

Expecting happiness in a setting like GoT is like trying to squeeze water out of a rock.

I actually wanted a bad ending. Night King murdering everyone (or at least making people retreat from Winterfell with heavy casulties).
