I hear cyber-pirates don't wear eye-patches. I hear they wear capes now. Or was it white hats?

"there are cyber criminals who steal stuff, but they don't go yo-ho-ho or use eyepatches."

Good luck even FINDING good game pirating sites these days, what with big corpos going after them so that they had to go even DEEPER under the radar, and smart users are wary about telling others about them in case they turn out to be snitches or just too dumb to keep a secret.

...But what about John Silver from Treasure Planet?

Ah well, joke's on subscription people. Small developers only need not play along and they'll have a whole market to themselves, and there's nothing stopping people from just going old-school with IRL friends and old stuff they already own.

I'd say no one would notice a cyber pirate and that's because they drive in a downloaded car instead of a ship.

To be fair real pirates don’t usually wear an eyepatch and sayYo-oh-oh either.

@Samuel Measa: The most organized of the cyber pirates might still use that jolly roger, like when they start a bay or something and come up with a fancy impressive logo, but even then it's mostly just for branding

If buying a game means you don't own it, then pirating a game is not stealing.

Cyber Pirates don't need to say Yo-oh-oh they don't even need to fly the Jolly Rodger to let you know they have been there. In fact the best Cyber Pirates are more ninja stealthy then the more traditional raider.
