If we're speaking of comparatively lesser evils, at least guns are designed to either kill quickly and not prolong suffering, or make non-lethal injuries that medicine can more cleanly treat and heal...

Punisher uses guns, so bad. Wolvie uses claws, not guns, so fine.
Ironman uses _REPULSOR RAYS_ not guns, so fine.

Well, I think you really should read Marvel Civil War comic for that double standard.
I mean I remember Captain America beating down Punisher for gunning people down, but Tony Stark never get called out, even by Marvel editor.
That and AvX having Cyclops as villain for undoing genocide.

So, Punisher is infamous for being a fan favorite for all the wrong reasons (i.e. cops putting his logo on their squad cars). Is Wolverine the same? Does he have a bunch of obnoxious right-wingers that gush about how he's not like the p*ssy-ass heroes that DON'T kill or something?

Lets be honest... Punisher gets more flack because he is unable to kill any of the major name players.

Wolverine in the other hand gets kills underneath his belt with a few of his villains even staying dead!

If it wasn't for double standards, Marvel would have no standards at all. XD Seems like editorial reigns the wrong writers while also given carte blanche to the OTHER wrong writers. XP But as a former Marvel Zombie from the 90s/00s, I'm biased. XD
