Joseph Lee, Carlos Moya - I was talking not about immediately cast magic (reaction), but rather pre-cast one (preparation). Remember Fred+George Weasley selling those shield hats that had Protego pre-placed on them? Same concept here, "anti-bullet amulet". Too bad most mages don't think about it...

Someone brought up Mage: The Ascension, so I'll bring up GURPS. It's standard magic system is doesn't care whether it's the Stone Age, modern times, or the future; magic can be combined with technology. In fact, there's an Technology College. Or just use Enchantment to power-up bullets. ;)

I like how Mage: The Ascension / Awakening does it.
Magic and Science are the same, powered by collective belief.
Back then they manipulate and concentrate the energy, then launch it as magic missile.
Now they release the energy stored in the powder to launch the metallic projectile.
If I recall correctly, Severus Snape —who happens to be a renowned expert in shield charms— found it difficult to stop a few thrown knives.
I'm not sure how much this says about average wizards trying to stop even handgun calibers, but the prognosis is not exactly good.

The efficacy of Protego (Shield Charm) versus firearms is debated, if I understand things correctly. And if I'm replying to the right comment. XD The main concerns are casting speed versus firing speed, and holding up against high power shots and/or rapid fire.

Be careful, though, Strange. It's costs 400 000 mana to channel that spell for 12 seconds.

America Wizard's power and influence is growing I see.
Comparison with Harry Potter isn't strictly correct, the wizards there have repelling spell, which I'm pretty sure can be cast to 100% repel bullets (this is assuming there isn't any special bullet-repelling spells developed in centuries since arquebus and friends made appearance).
Didn't Sasha put out 10,000 round per minute according to "Meet the Heavy"?
Its been so long since I played TF2. I can't recall how fast the heavy's gun could eat lead and spit death.
