I still remember when everything in the Mario world had eyes. The clouds, the hills, the blocks. Kid me was always a bit fascinated on how such weird world would even work.

I feel Modern Mario is turning more mudance. I guess the shift to 3d kind force a more grounded world. Stuff like a angry sun coming down to kill you just don't work in 3d.
