@hinami, this; my basic kit on subnautica for exploring new region is supplies for 1 scanner room, 2 multirooms,1 entrance,1 bioreactor, one growing bed, one fruit; this sets up nice scanning station that will stay on for long while and easy to start again if visit region

Sounds a lot like how we keep using bioreactors in Subnautica instead of thermal reactors, or nuclear reactors.

Why look for the rare resources or spots to use the advanced reactors, when I can build a growing bed to power the bioreactor, right beside the bioreactor?

This reminds me. Someone once said that gamers will naturally try to find the most optimal solution even if it's boring. If my memory serves me well, it was a part of a discussion on how to make sure gamers are having fun while playing games.

It's funny, because when I read the comic, I immediately thought of Astroneer, even before seeing your commentary below. XD It's a fun little sandbox game, if not a bit frustrating at times, but once you open the gates, all thats left is collecting skins and hats. Yay. Do Summer in Mara next!

Ah yes, my favourite Factorio streamer does a similar thing in Satisfactory: builds 30 biomass burners, and shoves inside each of them a full 200 items stack of biofuel, instead of rushing to coal-power (which doesn't require manual refueling). And it works: it lasts about 90 minutes w/o refueling.
