Cross Over Rules 1) Villains will work together until they fight each other, then heroes can now beat them but not sooner. 2) Heroes will always fight and no matter who the fight is between no clear winner and they'll end up teaming up to defeat the villains. Even if it's Superman and Normal man.

Well, the true answer is that whether you're a Hero or a Villain, any other new costumed guy/girl on the scene has to be a villain, because, well... Costumes.

@RoderickBR: Don't forget the part that in Marvel, anyone who has powers of any kind is treated like trash by society. Unless they're rich.

Yea but then after a good beat-down session the heroes make friends and foil the villains who turn on each other the moment things start going wrong for them.

This is becoming so overplayed - DC has done it, Marvel has done it - hell, LOONEY FUCKING TUNES has done it :P It'd be kind of nice to have an original storyline from these stupid cross-over plots for a change...

That's pretty much a rule for Marvel comics. If two or more heroes usually not part of the same group meets for the first time (in a while, or at all), they should fight.

Villains need a reason to cooperate, heroes need a reason to fight each other. Eventually heroes cooperate and villains backstab each other.

Villians are like, this guy's pretty useful, I'm just gonna work with this guy until he outlives his usefulness.

Meanwhile, heroes are like, I'm the only hero this world needs, anyone else who are strong/have superpowers are probably villians. Gotta beat them up.
