I want to plug Super Robot Wars, which is an import game, apparently rather Advance Wars-like, but not as Moe as I think Jo wants. There's a bunch of girls, but also a lot of guys, and they're more regular anime than Moe.
The problem with Megaman games is that the X/Zero/ZX series exist. The addition of dashing and eall jumps change the game significantly and IMO make the game way more fun.

Also there is spiritual successor to Advance wars in form of Tiny Metal that is being developed right now? I am suprised that no one mentioned these.
As some one that did Maintenance for years in Fast Food, I sympathize with Jane.
Having to calibrate and clean coffee machines, Clean bathrooms, Sweep floors. Making sure the A/C is working in the middle of summer even if people in heavy clothing say it isn't. I am so glade I moved on.
About the AMA, the most relevant answers, in my opinion, were the ones where Gaben said the 'half-life universe' movies are still coming, and that they are working on another game in the same universe. They also said that they are working on a single player game.
Mighty No. 9 just needed a bit more visual polish (some of it looked like they just did some roughups for beta testing then never finished them). Gameplay wise I didn't mind it, but some of the shoddy backgrounds and lack of mouth movements was off-putting.
Jo, Armor Blitz for mobile has moe tank girls. It doesn't play like AW but it's been pretty fun. It's free to play but hasn't been super annoying about trying to make you spend money like many of the F2P titles.
The AMA was, quite frankly, very disappointing. It lasted only an hour, and many of the more interesting and, depending on your priorities, important questions went by unanswered.
I really liked Days of Ruin, it had a much better tone than the previous advance wars games to me. Fire Emblem is my usual go to, but AW is a similar paradigm. Too bad Days of Ruin bombed and the IP is pretty much dead.
I'd love to see another though. Especially with more moe girls.
Poor Jane, although she is a amazing janitor. Only took her 2 panels to make a giant room all nice & shiny before it got totally messed up again. Lets see, the bar needs a bouncer and that'll probably be Alex's job, although I wonder which one of them will be actually making the drinks?
About moe+strategy, it's a long stretch to the AW+moe you are looking for, but Goddess Kiss (mobile) is moe+mech+strategy. Just don't spend money on the game: they recently punished players who, unknowingly or not, exploited a bug they created on a game feature that was already failing for 2 weeks.
