@Jonathan Dos Santos: I guess maybe the joke is that Jane represents the type of gamer who's never heard of Harvest Moon and is so uninterested with the entire genre that she thinks Farmville is a close enough comparison.
I don't know if people go back to read the older comments, but I wanted to point out that they sleep in bunk beds because neither is willing to pony up for the big bedroom, remember? One of the perks of the big bedroom is the big bed.
As a guy who could never afford many console games growing up, I'm interested in getting Stardew and trying something from the domestic farm life sim genre.
I see what they were trying to do with Maru. Cute, easily flustered geek girl, same archetype as Tali'Zorah. But Maru felt like she'd go head over heels for the sort of slick creeper who'd call her an "old soul". Tali would know what that guy was doing and tell him to back off or get gunned down.
My character's relationship with Maru went flying up easily 'cause I kept tossing her mining leftovers after adventuring expeditions, but the idea of having my character romance her? She felt to me like an intelligent but still-immature teenager with an unhealthy crush. Just... no.
