Oh and FYI, console player here. Your fight is to us both entertaining AND pointless since a lot of the games you guys get exclusively require about 20 different buttons to work. We get action RPGs and even full blown MMOs that work with our controllers and don't require us to do a yearly upgrade.

Not seeing the issue, myself. If nothing else, they can easily play Team Fotress, Portal 2 Co-op, and quite a lot of other Steam games.

Mac gamers are (or were back in my day) folks who could buy everything that came out for the platform since only really good things ever got ported (Blizzard games Unreal Tournament, Quake, Fallout).
Though some great games were never ported, Damn you Sierra for canceling the Halflife port!!!

You can install Windows to dual-boot on a mac. I think the program was called bootcamp.
I mean, I can see someone installing Windows for gaming on that new "Retina" mac.

A couple years ago, me and my friends had LAN Fridays. We'd gather at someone's house with our rigs and play Counterstrike, Garry's Mod, Dawn of War, Command and Conquer and other things. Though, cant say any of us were Mac users :P

Mac gamers don't exist as you can't call yourself a gamer if you use a Apple product. A gamer either uses a console or pc or a handheld like the vita/3ds. I guess to be nice apple product users and people who use portable phones for gaming could be called casual gamers.

Mac users are either stuck in late 80's or try to be "trendy". Some defend their choice with statements like "Everything looks better on Mac!". Got my current laptop with 1GB Nvidia GT540 GPU for 399€, while everyone else swarmed around the ~1000€ Macs and tablets

The Steam for Mac library may be a bit malnourished, but Wine/virtualization/Bootcamp runs Windows just fine. I grew up on Windows 3.11. It peaked at 95, coasted at XP, and then promptly collapsed under its own user interface detritus.

I've used both. I've had a Macbook for some time now, though, and I just like the way it feels in general. Used to have a lot of problems with playing games, but that was due to my own inability to figure out WINE. Now that I have BootCamp, that problem is solved.

TF2 still exists, and Humble Indie Bundle shows there's market share for it (keep in mind that Macs are basically intel architecture now, and thus very similar to PCs).
For multiplayer, though, it's a huge pain. |
