The whole death thing is one of the biggest complaints about ME2. Not only was it pointless, but then they didn't even do anything with it. To be fair, though, it's not like they did anything with Shepard in ME2 anyways. ME2-Shepard is just a cardboard cutout that barks orders and lacks personality.

Ha, I agree totally with your comment on Cerberus, Jo

@Nerfnow: Shepard was smart enough to make a backup and keep it updated.

The shep death rez is not a shark jump. That term is for something else entirely

Now there would be a punchline...this version of Tali takes her helmet off..and it *is* the Argonian Maid... ;-)

Necromancy and nanotechnology man, brought the body to the altar of mass effects. They said she really died and got resurrected as a super bisexual zombie cyborg made to kill and romance.

Clearly, Shepard was admitted to the Throne of Heroes, and, provided with a suitable vessel by Cerberus, was given a gentle nudge by the unconscious and universal will of humans to avoid destruction forming the base of all human existence, Alaya.

Why is it any time I see any comic about any variation of Commander Shepard, he/she is in bed with an alien? Maybe I don't want to play Mass Effect 3 after all >_<

Nanotechnology. Works just like magic, but does not require that much suspension of disbelief. Well, until now.

@2033 There is a way to avoid said brawback. E.g. in "Fiasko", where "vitrification" is described as fast and brutal procedure. During that procedure liquid nitrogenium is literally shot-pumped into one's head, to ensure snap-freezing...

@Nerfnow Bioware just kind of "jumped a lot of sharks" with the death and rebirth of Commander Shepard. In the end, it was a link to make Cerberus more relevant, but they could had come with better and more functional ideas: If the Citadel leaders can't help, Shepard would need Cerberus anyway.

I love how you always put engie as shepard. FemShep FTW (and bonus - with Tali!) How I hate BW cause I couldn't get her in BW2. They even took Liara!
Nerfnow
about 12 years ago
@EltonBM: When Liara gives back your old ID tags, one of the options you have to answer is "these are not mine anymore" I guess it simply open to discussion. Some may accept the old Shepard died and this is a brand new one. Others may just think he died and come back.

@Nerfnow Change physical characteristics is not hard if they can get a body that reentered in a planet, they found soap Shepard, and build it again! The Grunt part, I think you killed the charade-They say they had to put a lot of bionics to keep that body alive, insert memories could be part of it.

Femshep is a Nord! She died and went to Sovngarde!

@Rain Harper: Hard science doesn't explain how I can go back from the dead with a different skin color, face and class. I died a bald white engineer and returned a blond black soldier? How this even work!

then there's the problem with jumpstarting the organism again, too.

@Rain Harper
you mean me?
I'm very familiar with the concept, but it's drawbacks as well. You can't simply freeze tissue since ice crystals in and around the cells puncture their membranes and upon unfreezing they collapse. same reason you shouldnt refreeze unfrozen foods, btw.

@Kuraido: I figured Tali had the right number of fingers, you just get to imagine where some of them are this way.
Kuraido
about 12 years ago
@Cpt. Obvious:
I'm showing her right hand having "two" fingers in both the first and last panels. It actually has three, but the thumb-like digit is underneath the cover in the first frame and behind Engie's neck in the last frame. Of a happier note is where Tali's left hand went in frame three.

You aren't familiar with hard Sci Fi, aren't You? The concept of cryo preservation (where all the life function are interupted, not just suspended) has been around for years. Check for example "Fiasco" by S. Lem.

I finally died for the first time I can recall in ME2. I got swarmed by husks on the final mission.

i dont know how brain tissue reacts to freeze-drying, but let's just assume they could regenerate it.
2033
about 12 years ago
since the suit leaked one can assume the body was preserved by removal of liquids (evaporation through vacuum) and later quasi cryogenic storage, depending on where he floated around.
this would mean that the cells, appart from missing their liquids, where quite intact.

Count her fingers, the number differs.
