I've never played Grim Fandango past the first few scenes from the demo. I guess my backlog is quite huge already.
Freespace 2... now there's some memories :) Get the SCP edition online too, upps the graphics VERY nicely. *blows the dust of his copy of it preparing to install*

3.500+ games in my backlog and climbing...

I just can't find enough time nowadays.
You're going to play Grim Fandango! Awesome!

Seriously, there's a reason it was voted Game of the Millennium. Even if you only count from 1970, calling it the best game of 30 years is quite something.
Mirrors Edge? Oh damm this game is as awesome as Portal is. it is... play it. I can't describe it.
P-P-Plansecape torment??
You HAVE to play Planescape torment.
Okay, its not the best game in the world, by far, but its the most unique story, storytelling and adventure I have ever seen in a video game, there's so much to be said about this game!

Story of my life.

This remembers me of the time I exchanged my "not so original" copy of Monkey Island 3 for a "complete and indeed original" copy of Grim Fandango.

Think I deserve a Top hat ;)
I don't know where you got your hands on a copy of Grim Fandango(as others have said it is not on GoG), but you need to go play it.
Right now.

Wow, you haven't played all those games and you call yourself a gamer?

Fucking "BR?" shit
I recently finished The Darkness and Prey myself (games from... 2005 I think), now going with Lips, then probably Red Faction 2.
Ah, i bought Mirrors Edge a while ago, but no time to play it. I dont even keep a backlog, not even a virtual one. It would hurt to see it...
Cried tears of joy during Planescape because the story was so damn good.

Search "backloggery". Seeing that I've never finished 75% of all the games I own (about 500 of them) was a shocker.

meh, I got space marine, alice: madness returns, and one or 2 other games backlogging atm.

dropped them all in a heartbeat for skyrim...

choice well made.
I want to buy new games.
So many games to play already.
End up playing TF2 all day.
Arghablargh. Now I'm reminded that I lost my Torment save halfway into the game and never got to actually ending it. I should probably restart, but redoing everything (and in a game like Torment, you feel you have to do EVERYTHING) is daunting...
Wait. Grim Fandango is on GOG? I can't seem to find it.
Don't play Planescape: Torment, save yourself!
After finishing it I felt like there was a hole in my chest and could not put myself to play another game for weeks.
@Bhau: Grandia is a great series to get back to. They feature stories of adventure rather than angst, and the battle system makes the non-random battles much more fun than the usual line dance.
hope you get that fixed soon Dusk because SR3 is awesome

have to add to the know that feeling as well.

SR3, Skyrim, Dark Souls, Deus Ex HR just to name a few out of my 20 odd list of new games i have to finish let alone all the things i have on steam that were a good idea or out cheap enough
over 12 years ago
I know exactly how you feel. I got so sick of backlog that I'm beating 52 games this year. And the frightening thing is that I'm on track.
Fortunately for me, the only game defining the "year of threes" that I care about is Saints Row the Third...which is bugging out on me so much I can't actually play it :D
over 12 years ago
Backlog? who needs backlog when you can
"Stop buying games and watch them all be played by someone else on the internet" it's like paying someone else to do the boring work for you*.
*warning the experience of the game may very on the person playing it.
Best do this with linear/story games.
Grim Fandango is one of those special few games you hope you'll forget all the details about so you can play it again fresh all over again.
This part of the year is always a tough time for a gamer. So many big-name titles coming out, and never enough time to finish them all. The problem for me is Skyrim came out this year... So big. Game so big. So good... Game so good..
Sonic Generations FTW!
Heh, I know the feeling of having a room-sized backlog. Currently playing the Grandia series from the start. @danvolodar: Yes! Do want so bad!
*Have about 20 games in backlog*
*Wild Skyrim appears!*
*Have 30 games in backlog*
*No time to play anything*
*More games*

Free Space never gets old. Just watch out for those flak batteries!
I got as far as the second disc with Grim Fandango before I got a bit stuck. I meant to get back to it sometime, as it was thoroughly entertaining. Same thing happened with Final Fantasy 7 actually.
Hell yes Planescape Torment. Awaiting PS:T-themed strips eagerly!

Sonic Generations is super fun! when you play classic sonic, modern sonic im kinda mixed on.. at points its fast and amazing, such as the city escape mix, thats quite fun, but crisis city just felt like a chore.

Thanks to steam, I have a backlog of nearly 200 games, possibly close to 300 - 500 if you include older NES, SNES, N64, GC, PS1, PS2, Dreamcast, Xbox, GBA games, as well as the newer stuff like DS, 3DS, and PS3 that I still haven't gotten yet, but am planning to once prices become more reasonable.

The music in Bastion blew my mind. And kept my tear ducts moisturized.

Mirror's Edge is quite fun.

Also, woo Bastion!
I'm still waiting lucas art makes a grim fandango remake for steam as they done for monkey island.
It would be nice.
Weird. I though games are made for playing. You know, getting fun. Not doing them like if it is a job.
You haven't finished Planescape: Torment? Or Grim Fandango?!

Sheesh, Jo. I'm not sure whether to be enraged at the heresy or to pity your poor, deprived gaming history. I am pleased that you're taking steps to fix the problem, though. Kudos on that.

Play Grim Fandango NOW. Best game ever. Stop reading and go get the game.
I do have to wonder where you found Grim Fandango, though, as it's not on GOG.
>Planescape: Torment
>not at the front of the list

I'm sad that it's taken you this long, but I'm thrilled because this means we may see PS:T comics here.
You better hurry Jo, before the Christmas Steam Sale begins...
Sonic Generations is a good one, very short to clear off if you just shoot for the meat & potatoes of the game!

I started in on Bauldur's Gate from GOG and it just won't end! I am happy :)

É foda achar verção em portugues de Grim Fandango (se vc ja jogou esse jogo, concertesa foi jogando a verção em portugues, e nostalgicamente falando vc vai querer joga-la de novo)
uuh, can't wait to see planescape: torment stuff.
This is why I only get a few games a year, so I won't have a backlog.
Seconding that. You'll need to get the Open source pack for that. its basically an entirely new game graphics and engine wise compared to the original. AND you can play both Freespace 1 AND 2 on the freespace 2 engine now!
If you're going to be playing Freespace 2, do look out for the 3.6.12 graphics packs from the hard-light forums. Makes it look awesome. http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=70692.0
