Try Counterstrike, there is a mod where you shoot as Mario for one team and Luigi for the other (or Birdo)

Not nearly as strange as you think. If you've ever seen that "Russian hacked" version of Super Mario Brothers where they claim it originally had guns... it's true. Originally Mario and Luigi went out with shotguns and punched and kicked their enemies.

Yeah, Yoshi's Safari was an actual Mario FPS for the SNES. And actually, you could technically say that the Sunshine- and Galaxy games had some light shooter elements; Sunshine had FLUDD for its gun and an over-the-shoulder view, and the Galaxy games had star-bits and a first-person view.
