Real men play through Dead Space with nothing but a plasma cutter. Also, try running out of ammo and having to beat a brute to death with melee only. Stasis is such a life saver.

IMO best all-around DS1 and DS2 weapon is the plasma cutter. This thing is a beast when fully maxed out .

Favourite weapon though is the Contact Beam. Charge it - PHWAMM! Enemy dead. And the secondary fire is great for those pesky preggers.

On a further note to saving ammo: best weapon for first shot: the linegun. In a group ambush run away a little then turn around. Those filthy necromorpths will be in a tidy, straight line for one shot to cripple them all.

You'll use a LOT less ripper saws after that first shot, that's for sure.

The only thing I remember about DS2 is the obvious trap with shuttle (oh dear...) and those troll face creepers. It felt that you are a monster hunter rather than some unlucky engineer triing to survive like it was in DS1, which was better, but oh well.

The level 6 gear is stormtrooper-esque, also, Still vote Plasma cutter. Maybe it's just me, but two bullets for kill, possibly more then one, since they line up. I've never needed more then the cutter (Except for pregs, Flamethrower is worth a little ammo just for them.)

@Obsessed Person: Don't worry, she will live. Since Scout can't be killed with one revolver shot and she is near dispenser. She could whack him with a bat.
