I think for the most rabid fans giving up on Pokemon feels like giving up on their childhood, especially if you're old enough to have been caught up in "Poke-Mania" as a kid when Pokemon showed up for the first time ever.

I've always been amazed by the devotion many people have for Pokémon and its franchise...it reminds me a lot of a football fan with their team.

If I were the CEO of a company, I'd be envious of the loyalty people have for this IP.
