I play gacha games and I'm F2P, so I naturally end up becoming a meta chaser. After all, I only have so many rolls, so I'm better off using them towards something that is actually good and useful, right?

So I end up playing a bunch of weaker decks, and wasting hours upon hours that could've been saved if I'd just suck it up and played the horribly broken design mistakes. I ain't ever gonna, because it's the principle of the thing.

See, I play Magic: the Gathering, and if there's a card that's so overpowered and broken it offends my Mel (see https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/making-magic/vorthos-and-mel-2015-08-31), I avoid it like the plague.
It hoestly depends on the type of game, in Player vs Player games meta chasing is the (unfortunately) common strategy, in Player vs Environment games what fits your play style and/or is the most fun for you to play with is the meta.

What gun but big rock thrower? In Darktide you throw boxes of grenades like a rock because your character is dumb...............And the irony is that a rock would not be a prize for grinding, but used for grinding.

The Rock is special it has infinite ammo and deals 5 damage no matter what defenses and resistances the target has. With enough patience you can take down anything with just rock

Gunfire Reborn has a "gun" that literally is just abrick. It's not even a bad weapon, it just takes some skill to use.
