Expedition 33 is the kind of game I expect to win Game of the Year. Not saying it does not deserve it, but it's the kind of game that make the industry look good, compared with, say, Doom (too violent), Silksong (too kid-coded) or Stellar Blade (too lewd)

Personally, I think gaming grew enough to not care about normies think about it but I also understand normies are a good part of gaming now and they want to look good on the dinner table.  Having 33 as the flagship of your hobby looks better than Mario or Quake.
