You want a Mechawarrior game without overheat, I think only those old 16bit ones.

heat in MWO is a bitch. Ghost heat in MWO is an entire whore.

Now see, your first mistake was firing an alpha strike while not standing in water.

Lasers are essentially shitty ovens that produce coherent light as a byproduct, so yeah, makes sense.

Mechwarrior Online gives the player a lot of freedom to customize their mech. Not so much that you can do anything, but enough that you can make decisions. Good ones, and bad ones. Try using some lighter guns and more heat sinks. Or learn to manage heat. Overheating is your fault, not the games.

The overheat thing makes sense, i mean, ain't no way that kind of weapon wouldn't cause it, but having the whole damn mech shut down for like 10 seconds in combat is a death sentence

Is that a Charger in the second panel? The 80-ton superheavy with the speed of a cheap medium mech and less firepower than some 20-ton recon mechs?

Your shooting lasers that are powerful enough to chunk through other mechs armor, of course they are going to be high powered and generate a ton of heat. Mechwarrior isn't really a high tech world. Generally Mechwarriors are fighting with the equivalent of WW1 tanks in 2023.
