KDA

Overwatch had a schizophrenic design where it wanted to be a casual, cinematic shooter but keep balancing the game towards being competitive. I'd assume Jeff Kaplan (the lead designer) wanted the game to be casual but Blizzard execs wanted their e-sport.

The lack of a KDA panel was to "prevent toxicity" and probably was kept that way by the influence of Jeff and with him gone the game can now fully morph into a competitive shooter.

Honestly, even if this is a bad decision, it's better than trying to be 2 things at once and being bad at both. I feel Valorant already took that niche but who knows, maybe Overwatch 2 can win some hearts back.
