Playing for the memes is as good reason as any other. And FFXIV Online is full of memes. Sometimes even the devs will incorporate them into the game, like the Red Comet. Tip: Read the description of the items and pay more attention to what the NPCs say in sidequests.

I have played some games because I saw memes or art online and got curious, some I liked (Shantae) and some disappointed me (Bard's Tale), I have even watched shows because I kept seeing memes and references online, Amphibia, Owl House, Invincible, ect... Most the shows have turned out good or okay.

Those are just the tip of the meme iceberg. We also have SUCH DEVASTATION, Lahabread, Manderville massages, smiles, slopeeh, bigger is better, big fat tacos, and much more.

Some video game companies must listen to their mistakes.
FF14 was a big flop, and its ranking tanked. It was hated.
Now, 10 years ago, FF14 is one of the best and more loved online rpg around here.

'Mad Because Small' is a good reason to look into the game, I think. Even if you never go past the free trial.

Uninstallafel is a meme that happened during one of Rich (a twitch streamer)'s streams. A Lalafell wearing a yellow outfit with a yellow cap did a 'side to side' dance. Rich was so entertained by this that he uninstalled WoW live on stream (this was after he got massively popular through FFXIV).

Well if you love fantasy RPGS with Memes, let me tell you about this VERY obscure PC game that game out just the one time and was never ever ported to anything: Skyrim.
