Actually, I've put a cut up hot dog in ramen before. Let it soak up some of the broth and it tasted pretty good.

Happy Birthday Jo!

Reminds me of the "Soap" shoes in Sonic Adventure 2. It wasn't until quite some after first playing the game that I found out they were an actual real thing.

Even a tentacle appreciates that perfect blend of Egg, Meat, and Shrimp.

@Ribusprissin: we heavy starches gotta stick together.

Heck, the Nissin office sent over a pack to the FF 15 team to celebrate when they finished.

Some background that helps explain the quest thing.

Nissin Cup Noodle apparently has an office around the corner from where they were making FF 15, and the workers often interacted at lunch and such. Especially with Cup Noodle stuff being stereotypical "cheap programmer" food, they threw it in.

Final Fantasy died for me with FF10. This just confirms it for me.

Nothing new. Many games do this all the time. Remember Metal Gear 3? https://youtu.be/AK8D_lxQH6Y Yep! It is a real product. I could send you some Jo.

White Rice is defending Noodles. You know he wouldn't do the same for you.

I don't always sellout - but when I do it's to the cheapest, most tasteless, cardboard-looking noodles on the whole damn planet :P

Apparently microwaving cup noodles is ill advised(Not recommended), probably because cancer or something.

I felt it was pretty funny. Have you seen the noodle commercial? And let us be honest, they had American express and Mercedes and many other products in the advertisement wagon.

2/2 ...have some campiness going on. They just decided to go full speed ahead with the camp in the noodle quest (not to be confused with the noodle incident). I mean, someone running around using medieval weapons when guns/robots are available is pretty weird, but we accept that cause it's FF.

@Shellhit: it's a weird, modern technically advanced fantasy world, so that gives it a lot of wiggle room for what is & isn't thematically appropriate. I mean, we've got cars & radios & a selfie taking gunslinger, I can accept instant noodles being a thing. Plus, the FF games always...

I didn't have a problem with the cup noodles quest but I also thought "cup noodles" was a generic term, not a brand. Knowing it was product placement...it's really cringy.

@Filipe De Sá Mascarenhas: Is this just fantasy?

It never even occurred to me you could just microwave the cup... I always poured in hot water then put something to hold the "lid" down for a few minutes.

I'm not sure if i should be amused or not, but it was so silly and direct that it was at least kind of entertaining, huaehuahea

@Shellhit: Is this real life?

That's really weird, considering it's some sort of fantasy world. Imagine if Dark Souls did anything like that. It's just immersion breaking as hell.

If you are going to have a fucking product placement *quest*, I prefer it being over the top and ridiculous like so you can take it as a joke.

Also, looks like the big guy prefer meat on his noodle. Egg quest seen easier though.

Was a silly little quest. I loved Noctis acting in it, was like he was reading cue cards for a bad cup noodles advert lol

Like, ads on billboards and stuff, sure. But an actual quest? Wowzers.

Gameplay footage of Noodle quest.

Up to 1:20 in the video, and excluding the zooming and pasted in images, it's actual game footage. You first find an actual Cup Noodle food cart, and get a quest for slaying a shrimp-scorpion beast and cooking it. It's a hassle, and then you get that second cutscene.

I think I understand less after watching the video.
