Guys, maybe it is a bit to point this out, but i think nobody realizes that phantom lancer is pretty much based on the monkey king, the skills, the fighting style(spear and all).

@Waka: yes, but like i said (in one of the 2 posts) Wukong is a big character in china from the story "journey to the west" which is so big that Wukong ends up being everywhere

Triple-post because reasons. The changes they made weren't that much of "buffs", they just changed how the game plays slightly, and maybe it's just me, but 6.87 just isn't fun to play.

The meta is stale as hell now, deathball never works anymore, early game heroes are less useful with each patch, every new hero is low tier and not viable. Have you watched pro matches lately? We hardly see anything new, just the same heroes, with the same late-carry strategy.

@Waka: Blade Mail now ignores BKB meaning that it's pretty easy to deal with PA. Bloodthorn is the most expensive item in the game (Dagon lvl max aside) meaning it's not that good. Axe had 3 nerf in a row and a single buff now.

Shadow Demon was the first DotA 2 original hero. They went back and added him to DotA 1 though.

Would be hilarious if Valve started dropping hints about Pit Lord, building up hype for his release, and then suddenly just released the Monkey King instead.

@Raxyz: really? PA dagger can now insta kill heroes late? bloodthorn providing criticals, true strike and silence? pure damage axe? blademail piercing bkb?
its only OD and arc that got hit hard, the rest of the fotm either got a slight nerf or just a slap on the wrist. then the rest got buffed.

@asgth th: even HoN has monkey king, dunno about other more obscure mobas though.

@Jordan Dox while it is true he is in smite and league that does not really make it less of a chance of adding him. smite only uses gods and Sun Wukong is the monkey king god, while league probably have him because he is a big character in Chinese tales, more specifically journey to the west

The way Valve's been "balancing" Dota 2 is getting duller and duller by the patch IMO...

@Eldaln it is the year of the monkey king, also known as Sun Wukong so it would make sense for it being him

@Jarno Westhof considering it is the year of the monkey king (Sun Wukong) it makes sense to delay Pit lord and get the king in when it is his year

i doubt pit lord will be released at all, a frog can decide to change his path

Both LoL and Smite have (Sun) Wukong already in the game. Goku is based on it too, and I'm probably missing a lot more. If the monkey king enters dota I expect a sizeable uproar about being unoriginal.

i could be that icefrog wants to release the monkey hero rather then pit lord. it would be a pitty tho i realy would like ot see pit lord, but honesltly given how long he has taken... they could have easly released him already if they wanted. but for so me reason they dont want to
