camping the point can often lead to 3-4 kills/suicide charge.

Also, char limit for these boxes should be increased slightly.

Running around with a sword is typically suicidal (but hilarious). I value the shield for its defensive bonuses, since I don't find the sticky strong enough. It certainly has its uses, but I'd rather stay alive.

Charge + caber on medieval map = lol. A well timed charge vs defenders camping the

@Seth McMunn: I used to be unable to rocket jump too. Even after I was told "You need to crouch and then fire your rocket", I still had trouble getting the timing down, so I kind of gave up on it. I would try a rocket jump every now and then, though, and eventually I got the hang of it.

@Seth McMunn: I'd reccoment googling Jump_beef. It's a map made solely for understanding Rocket Jumping. That and a couple YT videos and you're good to go. I went from total clueless to quite good at rocket jumping in a month by doing this.

@Redthirst: They did. However, noobs cried too much and Valve went back and made OP again.
Quite frankly people bitch way too much about sticky launcher. If it was mostly medie mode every noob would whine about demomen medics and snipers.
@Redthirst: People like you happened, you whined and whined till it was shit. And then whined some more.

I started TF2 around the Engie update.
Still can't rocket jump.

I always regarded Sticky launcher as OP noob weapon. Did they got nerfed or something? Haven't played in a while.

Oh gosh, I completely agree, I suck at using stickies as well, which only fuels my utter contempt for assholes who have air-spammed since day 1! >:(
over 10 years ago
@Swagner:

No they exist, I'm one of them. I see people running about spamming stickies and able to detonate them when they've barely been shot out and whenever I tried the bomb had long sailed past them and blown up almost harmlessly. I just use grenades, targe and pan as a demo usually.

I've been there a couple times....Run for fun, and über comes and makes you feel like you suddendly have the hideous responsibility to carry the team.

But as Medic, i usually take the Quick-fix to go with a Shield-Demo, to run, kill, and perhaps "jump" through the map. DR keeps Demo alive a lot.

Heh. I'm a black box user. Most of the time.

I'm a bit surprised by the people saying they've had trouble using the sticky launcher, I've always found it a lot easier to use than the regular grenade launcher! (It probably has something to do with my terrible aim, I find aiming at people's feet like a soldier easier than actually shooting them)

Haus Haus = Raus Raus = Out Out

@Lizzardtong: Huh, so it does. Damn you, TF2 wiki, you lied to me! :`(

I don't know if only happens to me, but when I click in previous from this comic, the previous one don't have the next nor the last options available. Only me ?
as far as i know (and i am german) Raus means Out.
I may as well say this before somebody else does: at first I thought the Medic was saying "Haus" too, but eventually I found (on the TF2 wiki) that it was "Raus, Raus!" My German is terrible, but the wiki says it means "Go, go!", which makes more sense than "House, house!" ;)

@Kristian Cruz: Another class they're good against is Heavies. If a Heavy is firing his gun, he isn't moving very fast, so just shoot 3-4 stickies on the ground near him and blow them up. He probably won't be able to get out of the blast radius in time.

It took me a while to learn to use stickybombs, and even now I will only equip the stickybomb launcher in certain situations, like when I want to keep enemies off control points or take out a sentry.

Eyelander + Targe + Grenade Launcher is probably a good choice.
I usually just use sticky bombs to form choke points, protect objectives, or sticky jump if you just use 1 or 2 (WHICH IS HARD). A useful tip is just put them where enemies usually walk and wait for them with your grenade launcher in hand. A well placed sticky can change a battle.
If it's any consolation, you're not the only one who doesn't know how to use the sticky bombs. I outright hate them. Never seem to manage to hit anyone or anything with them. Demoknight FTW!
