Real Pretend Money

Everybody saying their piece about Bitcoin, so I'll do it too.

Be it gold, dollars or acorns, for me, the main use of money is to make the acquistion of good simpler. I do art, but I want to buy cake, the cake guy don't want art, but he can accept money which he'll later exchange for something like shoes.

Real currency also has a goverment backing it so you won't end up with a bunch of useless pieces of paper.

Bitcoin can't easily be traded for goods and there is no solid warranty it won't crash and burn overnight so lots of people won't accept it, this make it a fairly hard to use currency.

Now, if you want to use it for speculation or other uses, sure, but realize lots of people won't want it for several reasons and if a currency isn't widely accepted, it's kinda worthless.
