The ONLY way Blizzard is getting another cent out of me is if they start offering official patch capped servers for anyone who owns the required expansions and has an active sub. Cata was the last straw in my book, and until they start offering 1.12.1 or 2.4.2, at minimum, they're dead to me.

I must admit too, it does look tempting. I've been a Warcraft fan since I was 10 years old. But I feel I'm to far removed from the game to start again. Me thinks I'll just watch the cutscenes.

I really miss vanilla WoW.

No, I just meant that it was in the game and was part of the story. The first two expansions weren't *about* time travel, but time travel existed. And I honestly enjoyed the way it was done.

The time travel bits in Cataclysm were pretty dumb, except for the one with Illidan.

Although an entire time travel centric *expansion pack* is arguably ridiculous, I actually loved the use of time travel in the first two expansions, because it let them show Warcraft 2 and Warcraft 3 stories in WoW, and those were the best stories.

warcraft 3 (+TFT) lore was amazing. the game’s story + background were epic. WoW? clusterfuck of handwaved bullshit to accomodate gameplay. i mean the orcs join the undead after thrall has built durotar? WTF?

After getting burned out on Cataclysm, the only real way they'd get me back in is if they went FtP like a lot of others are doing... Also going up against yet more orcs as the raid bosses and whatnot just feels like they copy/pastaed Pandaria.

Yeah, pretty sure Jo misunderstood something. Garrosh isn't mentioned at all anywhere in the new expansion's website or press release. The old horde already existed; Garrosh isn't creating it.

The website doesn't say at any point why we ARE going into the past, which is weird.

Not looking forward to this. Focussing on the -one- main badass means the story is built and *fixed* around this one, leading to a shallow story arc. Many other characters with their own goals that they try to achieve would save it, I guess.

While the concept of time travel sounds cool it's always a sign that the story writers run out of good ideas. Sure, we did see that coming because it was an idea that was constantly kicked around within the game. *bad boys music* The time travel concept killed plenty of TV shows already.

Can't help like they've gone past the point of no return with this xpac announcement. Of course, the same could be said of Cataclysm.
