Easy pickings. Sure you can eat food/use items/wear armor and what not to speed up but then you are left with a 1/2 assed guardian =/

One thing I know is all heroes who have a speed passive (Tiny / Death Prophet, Invoker, etc) starts pretty slow.

Doesn't matter what game, but devs usually think "casters/support have to be slow"
Pretty annoying if you team with support and have to wait or if the support isn't around when it gets critical, because he/she has to catch up.
Seriously Icefrog, buff her damn movement speed to 290 if not that then rework her ulti to not be such a suicidal skill. Also, stop trying to buff arcane aura and just freaking change it back to dota 1 percentage amount because that skill sucks as well.

Nothing that a combination of Boots of Travel, Eul's Scepter, Drums of Endurance and Sange & Yasha can't solve.
The irony of crystal maiden is that even if she has lines that state that she wants to go faster/swiftly, she has very horrible movespeed, unless she has tranquil boots/euls/drum of endurance
