Art is nice, but I'm perfectly happy with videogames being videogames. I joined for the button pressing and it always been enough for me.

Sure, if games become art (and now eletronic sports) it may be better, but always sounded like videogames were trying to be something more because just being a game was not enough.

Or maybe people just want to run away from the social stigma of being "gamers" and their hobby being something childish. I'm happy I really don't care about what people think about my hobbies but I can see people felling better if what they do in their free time is seen as something more "adult" whatever this means.
