The new Dante is worse than the original. But it's a good game nevertheless, and the new Dante isn't that bad. I just don't think they should have called DmC though, if they made a game with another demon hunter set in the same universe that DMC would be a WAY better alternative.

I haven't played the new DMC yet but I will be honestly surprised if the new Dante can be as unlikeable as the complete douchefag old Dante was in DMC 2+.

Seriously, for the new Dante to be anywhere near as horrible as the old Dante would take active work on his part. I reserve judgement.

There are reasons to love and hate

I'm not a fan of the old games and won't play this reboot, but personal opinion is that new Dante is trying way too hard to be dark and edgy and ends up coming across as excessive to the point of parody.

Yeah the old Dante was generic looking, but at least there was some self-awareness about it.
