@kerespup: you needed to have access to the game before the wave with the two additional invites was sent out. Who know when or if there will be another wave of extra invites for everyone that has access.

Getting Beta invites are the sort of things that you really look for, but when you get you discover that it is raw... Anyway... I still would like to try Dust514 for PS3 ( It can use mouse and keyboard)... I got the invite, but not the ps3...

Well, Dota (or MOBA, or LOL, or WTF) style games were not meant for me, never managed to adapt, by teammates more than the game itself, a shame because it is a type of game that is really competitive.

@Mugguffen It's free to play,but you need a beta invite or pay the 30 dollar "play early" fee to play it. LoL is already out and free to play. So until DOTA2 is released,LoL has a major advantage.

I liked the comment section back before it was flooded with League players who really can't shut up about the game whenever DOTA is mentioned. Holy shit, I don't even like MOBAs, and yet I prefer DOTA simply for the fact that the fanbase doesn't consist of such loudmouthed assholes.

Engine is crying on the inside in the last panel because DOTA2 has not had a Mac OSX port yet like other Valve Source games. Has a room full of invents and cant play. Tragic... says me a Mac guy with an apple in his TrollNow ID. :P

So I thought only newer-ish people got a handful of invites? I know me and one of my friends has had it for like ever...and neither of us got it, but all of our friends that have gotten it a little more recently all got invites...

I think its a smart strategy to give out free admition tickets rather than letting people get the game any point they want. basically through word of mouth and player discretion lets only the people that want to play dota style games in and keep as few idiots and greefers out. not 100% though.

@TG: Prolly its not the thing for you. I never actually played Mass Effect although the game was a blast, i didnt feel like it was my thing. It depends on a taste i believe.

I can't see why people love dota and other MOBAs.
They practically RTS without construction and general strategy or RPG without a plot,a party and anything that isn't the fighting system;
I tried DOTA 1 and 2,LoL and HoN,none managed to be fun or interesting.Am I just not made to play those?

@GabonMx: They aren't even close of release. They need servers for about ~12M+ players, if not more. I think saying there are over 2M on dota2 atm is an overestimation.

Choosing summoners spells is usually done with cooperation with your team. Bottom lane take exhaust flash ignite heal/flash for instance. It's more to it than you think.

3. Runes and talents add hidden information to the game and the same hero can be diffrent(not saying variety is bad thing love that in d3 but thats diffrent case). In dota variety depends on items and i can check them if i see enemy hero and that makes the game more tactical.

@NONE: Personally i prefer dota due to few things:
1. You dont have to buy heroes and have everything at the start and thats fair.
2. Summoner spells like flash make game less tactical as every character can easily avoid ganking. In dota you have to buy specific item to get blink.

To be honest: Seeing comments on nerf now one can receive vice-versa view of this. Say "LoL" and you will be squashed like a bug, without any regard to the intention it was said.

I cannot understand why LoL people hate dota so much. Dota was the first thing in the genre as a W3 mod and based on it LoL and Hon were created. I understand that you can prefer LoL over dota but hating it is a bit illogicall because both games have the same core ideas.

@GabonMx: It is likely that they are increasing user volume incrementally to make sure that they have enough server capacity for the eventual crowd that it'll have.

If they did release it right now, it's possible that the servers wouldn't be able to handle it... Remember Diablo3 Launch?
