If you claim that pyro is offense and because of theat he has to be strong and run out killing stuff. Then demos and heavies, which are defense classes, shouldn't go out of the base and stay defending.

Don't really get why everyone's complaining about the pyro changes. I actually like them, and I play pyro all the time. It's reduced the number of annoying W+M1 fags, and the pyro was already OP to start with. The pyro changes helped balance out the game, and needs no, if any, fixing.

On another note, I really think Valve should nerf backburner's *frontal* damage instead, and has to be enough to discourage idiots W+M1-ing with them and encourage more ambush offense with that.

This is why i like the console version of TF2 it doesn't update and its perfectly balanced. pyro has decent range but poeple can still run backwards while shooting him, and he can still burn the idiots who charge him thinking its like the pc version

I more have a feeling that we're going to see a trip not unlike the Sniper/Demo-tan arc where Demo-tan was leaving stickybombs in unusual places to kill Sniper. This time, it would be more like Pyro gets headshot whenever he goes through a door, or gets out the shower, or leaves the house.

You'd think the Pyro would've learned from the Engi-Tan(sp?) arc, if that makes any sense. I also hope this doesn't mean the (permanent) end to Sniper-Tan/Pyro.

Pyro, that was a very stupid thing to say. Never berate your woman unless she absolutely needs it (not even deserves; needs).
However, Sniper... Pyro is an ASSAULT class. Why does he have to work harder to kill than the other two? He is NOT support. That's like calling a marine a policeman.

I stopped playing engineer because they kept buffing the spy while giving the engineer nothing (note that he STILL hasn't had his update even though they're releasing other stuff). I started playing pyro to get back at the spahs.

Bottom line, all classes have a distinct advantage over Pyros in the right circumstances. Medics self-heal, Demos shield, Soldiers can gunboat away, Sniper Jarate, Scout Bonk, Spy DR, Heavy Sandvich. Engineers have dispensers, but its possible they'll get something now too. Pyros are easily hardest.

As for the Pyro, all his abilities now seem geared to skill. Backburner is the CLASSIC style, while the classic has the "Unlockable" feel to it. Thats bad for new players who aren't skilled with it or CANT do the axtinguisher dance, who'd HATE how a class turns around and wastes em in no time flat.

Technically it was fine when the Soldier became more offensive; thats his deal. The Demoman isn't supposed to be able to charge headlong into battle, but now he is an offensive/defensive mishmash. And the ability to have more HP/Melee Damage than Soldiers for a mere 25 hp drop fixable by a Medic...

Honestly, I don't bother with the flaregun at all - I find the shotgun he/she got as one of his/her original weaponry cache to be far more effective anyway. Shotty vs shotty is the same since they have the same base/crit dmg, pyro has the lead since he/she most likely already lit the soldier on fire

If you want to kill things with fire, use the backburner. It does as much damage as it ever did, afterburns as much as it ever did. Flamethrower is now for tricksy airblasting, backburner is for classic firey DOOM.

If we pretend that the Pyro is now a match for Soldier & Demoman (and I really don't think it is), then we've got a situation where Pyro is countered hard by two classes (Scout, Heavy) & Sentries, but really doesn't counter anything except Spies, who are easy kills anyways.

Someone said like a billion comments ago about the Backburner.
The Backburner still does pre-update damage. They nerfed it by 20% along with the Flamethrower, but then gave back 20%. If you do the math, it's actually 96% of the pre-update, I think Valve fudged a little...

Well I'm done with this comic, instead of being funny or interesting its just a funnel for your ignorant and biased opinions. The new pyro update has actually caused me to play the class for once and enjoy the new depth and skill. I can't count the many times a sniper saved a scrim for my team btw.

I rarely seen snipers being useful, just trying to get easy kills far away from the frontline and having their small sniper wars. Unless they are trying to get key targets.

You need a sniper when....
If their team has a sniper, you need a sniper to counter it.... If their team has no sniper, go medic. :-D Ok, serious competitive snipers can make a difference, but most of them are useless and are only good for being a counter for a sniper. about 3 years ago

I'm actually pretty happy with the changes. Flamethrower got even more useful while the Backburner stays as the higher damage, no airblast alternative.
I still prefer the Flamethrower (because reflect kills are awesome) but for those that just want to burn things, there is the backburner. about 3 years ago

It's a fair call - the Pyro is an Offensive class - but really, it's reduced W+M1 pyros and resulted in more actual aiming and knowing when to tail-chase and when to back off/switch to shotgun. Stupid Pyros will now be punished with failure.

The pybro's problem is that his limited kill zone is being treated as too powerful (lol flare gun doing anything to anyone but people who are standing still). The soldier can kill just as easily from across the map.

He's got a point... he's an "offense" class. He's supposed to be able to help push an offensive. Spy checking is an essential role but thats part of being a pyro and it's always been that way. But the fact that I have to go around pushing sticky bombs and putting out fires... thats just wrong man.

Incidentally, the 'Support' classes are Medic, Sniper, and Spy. 'Defense' are Heavy, Engineer, and Demoman.
OFFENSE classes are Pyro, Soldier, and Scout. They're SUPPOSED to kill stuff with fire, they aren't meant to BE support!

This is why pride causes so much strife. It makes you lash out against the people you care most. Sniper-tan, don't take it personally. Snipers are useful as support. You can watch people's backs or stop an potential push with a single bullet.
